Moved to Gwangju

Hello!

Dan and I are so blessed! We have recently moved from the English Village to Gwangju! We are now teaching with SDA Language Institutes again. It has been really hectic recently due to the move and flying to Hong Kong to get our new visa. When you change employers in Korea you are required by law to get a new visa. In order to do that you must fly out of the country. We had been traveling for about 3-4 days. It gets very tiring. Dan didn't sleep at all Sunday night and I got 2 hours of sleep and then we left to go to the airport at 4:30am on Monday. We got to Hong Kong at 1:30pm and didn't get to our hotel until 4:30pm. We were wiped out! We went to bed real early and didn't get up until we had too the next day to pick up our visas. Our flight then got delayed and we were unable to take the last bus from Incheon Airport to Gwangju the new city we would be teaching in. The airline provided a place to stay in a hotel and then we took the bus the next day (Wednesday) at 6:50am to Gwangju. We arrived at Gwangju around 11am and were brought to the institute and talked to about our teaching schedule. I started teaching that day at 3pm and Dan started teaching at 4pm.
Our house was a mess, but now we are still in the process of unpacking. This weekend we should be finished and it should feel more like home. I really enjoy my classes. I teach 3 hours of juniors and 4 hours of adults (3 English classes and 1 religion class). This institute has 6 foreign teachers including Dan and me. We really like our apartment. We have two bedrooms, so if you want to visit you have a bedroom to yourself and your own hard mattress :) The mattresses in Korea are not like the ones in the states, but you get used to it.
The best thing of all is that we have a gypsanim helping us out. A gypsanim is an elder lady that helps the foreigners with cleaning the house and if the foreigners wish make food for them. We were told that married couples in Korea don't get those services, but here in Gwangju we are blessed with a gypsanim. You guys have no idea how happy that makes me! It's such a big help to have someon come to your house and help you wash the dishes, vacuum the floor, clean the bathroom, etc... and then cook lunch for you! Dan and I are very happy to have her helping us out like that. Later I wish to make a video of her helping us and of the wonderful food that she makes. Since this is my first time here in this part of Korea I have much to explore. I hope to do some exploring this weekend. Gwangju is located in the south west of the Korean Peninsula. It's warmer than the northern part of South Korea. We are close to Jeju Island and Busan.

Let me know if you have any questions.
